‘Balenciaga: Shaping Fashion‘ is coming to the V&A next year
Commencing next year, the V&A exhibit will celebrate the life and legacy of crackerjack couturier Cristóbal Balenciaga, one of fashion’s most exalted names. Known for his technical prowess and creative spunk, the Spanish buccaneer is famous for framing entirely new shapes, structures and silhouettes that went viral in the late 50s. His contribution to fashion is, basically, stupendous. The exhibit will be held at London’s venerable V&A and will showcase over 100 looks (some never seen before), headpieces, photos, editorials, swatches and sketches that will examine Balenciaga’s iconic brand, career, creativity and impact on fashion.
‘Balenciaga: Shaping Fashion’ will be live at the V&A on May 27, 2017 through February 18, 2018
