Digital Whiz – Frank Nitty
Frank Nitty’s narcotic vector art is very, very, very cool!
Hong Kong-based hustler Frank Nitty nails new media art. Through his virtual pigment and pixelated canvases, he provides an alternate vision of beauty. He meddles with visual trends and fashion tropes, providing a CGI wonderland populated with the surreal, the random, and the beautifully familiar.
Incorporating a sense of hyper-fluidity where exteriors, identity and texture meld and intersect, his archetypes, avatars, and animated portraiture is always poetic, poignant and optically exciting. Coupled with an interest in underground art and virtual reality, Frank works his magic on GIFs and digitally manipulated photographs, hijacking surfaces and subverting traditional adverts (you’ve witnessed his stuff via the visuals he’s done for the likes of Gucci, Burberry, Linda Farrow and more).
Frank’s work is fucking slick. He cross-pollinates the wacky, whimsical worlds of fashion and art with the coolest, most seditious composites we’ve seen in a while. “I stare at images for hours sometimes and I try to challenge myself to come up with crazy shit I just haven’t seen before. It’s an idea factory.” Check out his online aesthetics here and below. Whoa!
