Must See MARGIELA!
A magnificent MAISON MARGIELA retrospective opens in Paris this weekend.
Maison Margiela events are basically the best parts of Paris Fashion Week. This season, under the creative direction of John Galliano, the house delivered some spectacular sci-fi offerings; a narcotic, holographic haze of metallic kicks, technicolor trenches, awesome opalescent accessories and eclectic futuristic garments that got our hearts skipping beats.
A new exhibition, Margiela/Galliera 1989-2009, offers an unprecedented display of one of the most influential, cryptic, elusive and genius creatives ever — Martin Margiela — who pushed the parameters of fashion and art to the max.
This is the first retrospective in Paris devoted to the ‘Einstein of the avant-garde.’ The show traces the career of the Belgian disruptor from 1989 to 2009, which includes awe-inspiring archive pieces, ingeniously curated installations and a rare glimpse into the mind of a maverick and the inner workings of his atelier. The exhibition is open from March 3, 2018 until July 15, 2018 at Palais Galliera. Paris doesn’t suck after all. Word up!
