Russian contractors and Spetsnaz GRU squads get wasted in Syria
“We’re not looking for a fight with anyone else, but ‘if you threaten us, it will be your longest, and your worst, day, no matter your nationality or affiliation.'” – General ‘Mad Dog’ Mattis
As more details emerge about the bloody Battle of Deir Ezzor that took place last week, it is becoming clear that the slaughtered Assad-sponsored agents were in fact Russian mercenaries and GRU foot soldiers working under the aegis of the Wagner Group, or Grupa Vagnera (a Russian merc company filled with paramilitary freaks and often contracted by the Russian Defense Ministry and other iffy employers). Over 200 Russian sand-orcs were wetted during the offensive by a clutch U.S. Army and Kurdish troopers backed by Apaches, MQ-9s and artillery. There were no fatalities on the U.S. side, underscoring the dramatic difference between the military fitness of American grunts and the Russian/Syrian desperados (now very dispirited and demoralized, according to the three survivors). The dead soldiers for hire will be buried in Syria, in unnamed graves without any honors, according to sources in Moscow and Damascus. Putin & Co. have been rather mum on the super-sensitive subject of Russian casualties, but sources say he and the top brass in the Kremlin are seething and thirsty for revenge.
“U.S. forces are focused on fighting Islamic State (IS) militants,” said Mad Dog Mattis, head honcho at America’s Pentagon, adding: “We’re not looking for a fight with anyone else, but ‘if you threaten us, it will be your longest, and your worst, day, no matter your nationality or affiliation. We’ll get kinetic — and win — with anyone who picks a fight.'” Ugh. This will definitely escalate. Peep the pics and check this.
