Ryan Lo – AW18
RYAN LO’s swoon-inducing sweetness.
Ryan Lo’s sartorial snazz for AW18 is a lovey-dovey fun fest rife with heart-racing romance and super-duper cuteness. His collection this time around is like an adorable quantum qubit — things are neither here nor there but everywhere all at once. Observers and insiders at the show characterized the clothing as very “esque.” Indeed, pretty paradox permeates his gear along with love, awesome artisanship and sexy superposition. “She’s not a girl, she’s not a women. It’s about contradictions,” said Ryan from Soho’s Sketch Gallery in London Town.
Inspired by Yayoi Kusama’s egocentric “I LOVE ME!” film, Ryan delivered a rosy range with a punk-cum-high-art vibe. The looks were cute, kitschy, well-crafted, ridiculously cool, flirty, sassy and a wee bit cryptic all at once. Think Marie Antoinette meets kawaii ritz radiating pretty pale red and pink hues. Referencing Sukehiro Tomita’s ‘Wedding Peach’ anime and East-West cultural combos, Ryan Lo has a luminous way of breathing life into things that cannot easily be described. We love ♡ you Ryan Lo!
