‘Hell Has Everything’ is a heart-racing, religious and radicalizing experience. In this lush, pulsating panorama at Petzel Gallery in Chelsea, Seth Price blesses us with his hypnotic, beautiful ballet of naturalistic-psycho-social and surreal abstractions. He makes graphic/tactile wholes by aggregating a gazillion parts – a postmodern vortex fueled by unclassifiable expressionism, variegated montage, sundry acrylic storms, and awesome ad hoc artplay that intermingles octopus/squid pigments, human skin, embroidery, photography, dead insects, a stew of organic elements and sonic ferocity.
Seth’s art provides a tactility and visual intensity unlike anything we’ve experienced in a while. ‘Hell Has Everything’ is everything and then some revealing all the invisible inflections of life and the biorhythms of existence – synthetic, organic, artistic, magical and metaphysical.
Petzel Gallery is at 456 West 18th Street, NYC. This awesome exhibit runs through January 5, 2019. Go see it!
