McQueen, the forthcoming doc examining the life and legacy of the legendary misfit Alexander McQueen will drop this June 7th in London. The full trailer is finally out (below) and overflows with dark beauty, high drama and goth-romantic references.
Directed by Ian Bonhôte and Peter Ettedgui, McQueen captures the critical moments of the late designer’s life, investigating his tenure as Givenchy’s visionary head honcho (1996–2001), the evolution of his eye-popping eponymous label, his infinite contribution to the ‘Cool Britannia’ movement, and his indelible influence on fashion. The film showcases McQueen’s artistic madness and probes the subversive methodologies that gave rise to his ravishing oeuvre.
Composed of compelling Q&A’s with friends, family and creative collaborators, this doc sheds light on the sartorial genius who battled inner demons and took his own life at the age of 40. Peep the teaser below.
