Fenty x Puma x Bergdorf Goodman
Robyn Rihanna Fentyna is a master multi-tasker. She makes music (obvz), markets a handful of perfumes and fragrances, tokes trees, touts a cannabis line called “MaRihanna” (maybe) and dabbles in creative direction at Puma (“Fenty by Puma”). Last night at NYC’s venerable Bergdorf Goodman, a regal retailer way uptown owned and operated by Neiman Marcus, RiRi unveiled her niche assortment and pop-up shop on 5F. The range is streetwise meets luxe, inspired largely by the songstress’ elegant-edgy style. It looks a bit like Hood by Air from a few seasons back, incorporating a semi-gothleisure sensibility complete with over-the-knee WWF wrestler boots, furry fanny packs, sneakers and jerseys, baggy parachute pants and blinged out necklaces and chokers. Staged the same day as Kanye West’s Saint Pablo show at MSG, Fenty by Puma is further evidence of pop culture’s fashion invasion during NYFW. But we support Rihanna no matter what. Duh.
