Nina Lazic + Nemanja Vuksan = MORF
We ♡ heart ♡ the hardcore beauty of brutalist-inspired wearables by Serbian brand MORF!
Serbian architecture is two-fold: austere and functional, yet laced with cultural meaning and angsty symbolism. For Belgrade-born Nina Lazic and Nemanja Vuksan, ‘utopian’/socialist concrete architecture was ubiquitous in the Yugosphere where they grew up. Seeking to sublimate their cultural identity into an awesome and austere aesthetic vision, they launched MORF in the middle of this totally fucking annoying ‘Made In China’ pandemic. Their creative output is impressive!
Jam-packed with real concrete and brimming with jittery energy from the Balkans, MORF makes stunning geometric earrings, rings, necklaces, and chokers in different shades of grey/charcoal. The designs find subtle and severe beauty in the alien geometry of brutalist-style architecture, war bunkers and spomenik pillars.
Each piece is hand-crafted and seriously killer! Go here to explore MORF’s designs along with the ‘Between Fragments‘ range. Bang!
